Restructuring

We had the opportunity to support a European premium retailer over a more extended period as part of a transformation process. The logistics organisation had to be restructured because the online business was growing steadily, and the order situation in the physical footprint was increasingly changing.
We used quantity models and simulations to develop a new target structure for two implementation phases. The first phase lasted two years and was devoted to optimisation approaches in the existing set-up. The second phase serves to set up a procedural, systemic and structural reorganisation of the warehouse. In this way, regular operations were optimised and could be continued without any problems or endangering operational activities.

For both phases, we designed a flexibly designed target model that could be easily adapted to changing market and process requirements. This allowed us to ensure that volume adjustments and strategic approaches, such as the integration of an online marketplace, could be simulated and implemented efficiently.
